What happened to good MUSIC!!!!?

Every kid I know lets MTV shove music down their throats and tell them what to like, and then they act cool because they listen to it. I like metal and some of you might have just asnwered one of my questions but why can't young people look for good music anymore? It seriously disgusts me. Where my Ipod has Iron Maiden, Metallica, Alice in chains, Nirvana, Pantera etc. The next kid has Lil Wayne, Fergie,Katy Perry, and Flo Rida on a constant loop. WTF? I am a rap fan, I've gotr tons of 2pac, Game, Young Buck, Dr. Dre, but this MTV Rap blows. What happened to good Metal and Hip Hop? I feel like everyone else is on carzy pills
